Brooklyn female rappers always been in the forefront when it came down to "Who's the best female rapper?" out of the mouths of heads when they were on the corner and started talking that Hip Hop stuff. Brooklyn always had the cream of the crop females such as Lil Kim, Mc Lyte, Foxy Brown, Real Roxxane, Hurricane G, Queen Pen, Angie Martinez, Ms Melodie and so on. Now a days we have a Hip Hop genre called Battle rap which used to be dominated by men. But now women are on the rise in this Battle rap culture namely one woman in particular, Jaz The Rapper.Government Majenta Jasmin Bracey age 21.Jaz been grinding since 2005 and since then she's been doing what she has to do to make a name for her self in this man drenched culture called Hip Hop. Lately a movement called

Queen Of The Ring a female battle rap league that showcases the best of the best in female battle rap has exploded on the scene and has JAZ The Rapper as one of their cohorts. Jaz has chiseled her name in female battle rap by being undefeated in all her matches and have slayed some big names in the process. She's a force to be reckon with and have rhymes and charisma to match up with any male battle rapper. With that being said lets ask Ms. Jaz a few questions so we can get to know a little about

1.Do you think battlerap will stand the test of time?

(JAZ) I believe that battle rap will always exist . It is simply a form of competition and competition is something people are a part of naturally. Will battle rap be as big as it now in some time to come? I highly doubt it , battle rap has had its peaks and dips and even a time where it wasn’t even popular at all so I believe the cycle will keep happening.

2.What battlerapper would you like to battle next and why?

(JAZ) I would like to battle Ms Hustle because I feel she is one of the nicest and top chicks and I like to go by the saying “ to be the best you gotta beat the best”

3.Express how you feel about the female battlerap scene right now.

(JAZ) I feel the female battle rap scene right now is crazy ! You have chicks coming out of the woodworks now, all types of styles, looks, sounds, and its just motivating and inspiring to see what its become, compared to what it was when I first got into it as a battler.

4.Name your top 3 female and male battle rappers

(JAZ) My top 3 females are 40 B.A.R.R.S., Chayna Ashley, and Ms. Hustle .
My top 3 males are Conceited, Tsu Surf, and B Magic.

5.How do you prepare for your battles

(JAZ) Most of the time I’ll just sit in my room and write and write, think, brainstorm, revise, play with words, but , I do have a life so sometimes I’ll do this same process on the train while im traveling to wherever I have to go. In order to actually remember my bars, I literally repeat them any chance I get. Sometimes it looks like im talking to myself but when people that know me are around me while im practicing under my breath, they know whats up ! it’s a lot of hard work especially when you want to put 150% into it.

6.Would you ever battle a male battlerapper? If so who?If not why?

(JAZ) Would I ? maybe, I’d just want his style to be similar to my laid back, witty style. Someone with a similar style to mine would probably be Yung Ill, Chilla Jones, DNA> don’t want someone who’s very aggressive because I feel that’ll overpower me, especially guy aggressiveness which is way more aggressive than a female’s lol.

7.Who are your hip hop influences.

(JAZ) Big influences on me as a rapper would definitely be Eminem, Fabolous, and Jadakiss.

8.Do you believe in God or a higher power?

(JAZ) I believe in God but I don’t have a specific religion. I feel all of the stories and values, etc that are in these books put too much of a restriction on a life I live and I feel I can live righteously under my own scrutiny.

9.From everybody you've battled who was the most competition for you so far.

(JAZ) Hmm , im stuck between Chayna Ashley and QB . The reason I’m stuck is because I had to adjust myself in two different ways to battle them and it took a huge toll on me. For Chayna Ashley I felt I had to punch more and perform more, for QB I felt I had to deliver better and get more aggressive. As far as how they both did vs me, I felt they both did ok, because I’d seen them do better.

10.Other than battlerap whats another passion that fuels the fire of Jaz The Rapper?

(JAZ) I love to write and learn new things. It sounds pretty cliché but when I say learn new things I mean like random facts. It's always interesting to me when I find out something and it actually makes me say “wow!”

11.Do you feel as though you get more or less respect from your peers because you are a virgin.

(JAZ) Hmm, from my peers I’d say yes.. It may be because I’m a virgin or it can just simply be that I’m not out having sex with many guys . That’s something plausible as well, so shoutout to all the non-virgins that ain’t hoes either !

12.When you saw the battlerapic comic that was done of you and QB what was your reaction?.

(JAZ) Oh man , that was one of the biggest laughs EVER . I was crying tears actually I showed everyone in my house and put it up on instagram and twitter immediately. The drawing looked just like both of us, Dan Marino and Rothliesberger behind QB had me dying , and the speech bubbles? .. priceless !

13.Does your family support your battlerap career?

(JAZ) Yes my family supports everything I do because they know even though I do rap, I'm still focused on other priorities such as school. Speaking of that, I’m about to graduate and I cannot wait !

14.Respond to the people that say that Jaz The Rapper don't write her rhymes.

(JAZ) Ya’ll stupid cuz yall secretly admitting to liking the s#** I write. How do you compliment someone while trying to insult them?

15.Will we soon see an official Jaz The Rapper album? not a mixtape but a full fledge album?

(JAZ) An album? Hmm eventually I hope .. soon ? doubt it lol.

16.When you are on the streets do people recognize you and sweat you, if so how does it feel?

(JAZ) Haha yeah I get recognized pretty often and sometimes I can just feel it, depending on where im at, whether I will get recognized or not , and then other times I'm totally not expecting and it’ll be a grown man, or a grown woman, or teenage girls. It's very surreal and every time it happens I just don’t know how to hold my smile back. I can say I truly appreciate people that do acknowledge me and show love when they see me , the feeling is priceless.

17.If you had a chance to speak at a presidential event what would you say to the world?

(JAZ) I’d probably choke up lol, I know I battle rap but if im not rapping, I get shy when people are staring at me listening to what I have to say.
